Spas and Lasting WellnessHow To Make That Great Spa Feeling Last

Aaahhh the thought of going to a Spa… being massaged in great smelling lotions… feeling those kinks being released from your neck… the hot, bubbling waters of a whirlpool melting away all those challenging thoughts about money and kids and the romance that seems to have gone by the wayside in this new technological era.

Relaxing sounds good, doesn’t it – but how long will it last?

We have all been to Spas that were beyond gorgeous and just what we needed in the moment – only to find that life’s ‘little annoyances’ were waiting for us when we got home.

Victims of Bullying Powerless to Powerful
Friday, 07 May 2010 17:51
BullyingCould there be simple answers to the bullying situation that would assist victims to deal with these crimes of the heart, and often the body as well?

Everyone has strong opinions on what should be done.  They range from threatening the kids, parents, teachers and administrators with any number of legal actions including prison, to changing schools and even relocating to new cities.

Even if all of these solutions take place, will this heal the hurt experienced by the one who was bullied?  Of course not.  Will it teach them what to do to assure these situations won’t continue?  No.  So what can be done?

Anger Creates Change...or Does It?
Tuesday, 30 March 2010 17:34
Does Anger Create ChangeAnger ... rage ... blame ... all boiling over from people dealing with their opinions on Health Care Reform to reality shows in France -- "Game of Death" where people are torturing contestants who don't get their answers right, as Anderson Cooper discussed on AC 360. The effects these powerful emotions have on us are creating herd mentality behavior -- but can anger actually benefit us - and if so, then how?

The Health Care Reform Bill has so many up in arms that people are threatening the lives and families of those who voted for the bill. Is this how conscious we have become in the 21st Century? Is this what we teach our children as a viable way to create change?

Bullying Today.... Can we handle the truth?
Tuesday, 06 April 2010 17:05

BullyingCould there be simple answers to a very complicated question? There is one.  Will people listen…that’s up to you.

Bullying…why are we so shocked that kids are doing this today, isn’t it really an emotional problem of the child being bullied? The principal of one of the schools where a young person recently committed suicide would like you to think so.

Anderson Cooper is doing special reports, Oprah spent days specifically looking into this issue, Good Morning America and many of the talk shows are drilling into the why’s and the how’s of can it be stopped....

The Will to Know Freedom
Monday, 22 March 2010 20:49

Stillness by the SeaI was afraid of riding horses, I was afraid of getting up to bat, I was afraid of buying my own cigarettes. The only thing I wasn’t afraid of - was leaving. On the night my father put his fist through the only locked door in the house to punish me for not having obeyed him - I knew. I knew I had no choice but to go. I didn’t know where or even how - just that I had to go.

I crept out my window and climbed down the big oak tree, believing, all those years ago, this was my only hope to find freedom.   I guess it was my first taste of wanting something with such will that I could forget, at least momentarily, the many fears I lived with. And maybe it was this focused intention that became a determining factor for so much of the way my life unfolded.
