Participant: I’d just like to get your feedback on resistance. I firmly believe that everything you’re saying would be true for me if I practiced being able to have moments in my day where I would be still.
But I cannot understand why I’m having such resistance to being able to step outside my momentum, basically, and take that time.

Marlise: We have grown up in a world of human doings; we are doing machines. I know, I was one of them: I can make it happen. Just give me the project. What I discovered is that there is efforting in that, which doesn’t give you a lot of joy.
As I moved into greater connection, I discovered so many miraculous events occurring in my life that I realized, it was actually a waste of my time to move straight into action if I was in a doing mode. I would have to make lots of phone calls to make something happen - whereas if I began from a place of connection, I would be inspired which were the best calls to make; I usually only needed to make a few - and all of them would be in the flow of what I was creating. People would call me, even before I could pickup the phone to call them.
So the first awareness is to notice is when you’re feeling agitated - when you’re [in] doing, there’s this pumped-up, high energy, 20-espresso thing going on, and at the same time, there’s a part of you—getting very stressed. You can feel it.
When you’re in the middle of things moving too fast—like the phones just won’t stop ringing — just go shut the door. Five minutes. That’s all you need. Watch what happens. Within seconds of doing the Three Breathe Awareness, things begin slowing down, and inspiration comes in - you feel your connection to that state of presence growing. You will love these short breaks more and more. pretty soon, you’ll only need to breathe deep a few times and you will be surrounded by the miraculous, where all your actions happen from inspiration; synchronicity is all around you, the stress you used to feel has become a memory in your past. You will end up taking time for this more and more – it makes life so much more fun. and it works.
