Wherever Marlise travels she finds extraordinary individuals who are making a difference in their communities and in the world. As people connect to their deepest knowing through The Simplicity of Stillness®, they often find the inner strength and inspiration to expand their vision, and discover new ways to give back and serve others.
Maasai Health Education Project (Kenya - Africa)
Maasai Education Project: ‘Action Jackson’ (Jackson Ole Napjit) grew up as a Maasai warrior on the plains of the Mara in Kenya, Africa. Today he is a doctor’s assistant at the Talek Community Center and is the first person to introduce and implement safe circumcision procedures to the Maasai tribe living in the surrounding villages.
This kind-hearted individual has done the ‘impossible’ in turning around deeply entrenched cultural traditions that are unsafe as well as excruciatingly painful
When Action met Marlise he shared with her his intention to become the first Maasai balloon pilot, so he could earn more money to continue funding his work with the Masaai tribes. His dream is to educate many tribal people about the dangers of unsafe male circumcision and to stop the practice of female circumcision as well.
Action’s visioniss big and he was feeling the weight of it when he met Marlise. After experiencing Stillness in a session with Marlise, he regained hope to continue this important work (see photo) Transforming people’s understanding of this ancient tradition of circumcision is no small feat. To support this extraordinary work, Marlise is donating 50% of the proceeds of the Imagine CD. The artists who have joined her in making this extraordinary excursion into Stillness, have also offered their proceeds to be donated as well.
To date, Action has raised $10,000 and needs more to become trained in a flying school in California this year. He is an inspiration and a light to many in the region and to all who meet him.
If you would like to support Action Jackson on his journey of achieving this dream and sharing in the transformation of a cultural shift – new traditions that support health and wellbeing in no longer performing unsafe circumcision on males and no longer having circumcision on females - we invite you to DONATE here.
Trees of Life Project (Mali - West Africa)
TREES OF LIFE: The second project to receive a portion of the IMAGINE CD proceeds is called ‘Trees of Life’ and was founded by Mikaelu Djiguiba from the famous Dogon tribe, in Mali, West Africa.
Mikaelu is another amazing individual who is making a difference in the lives of many tribal people in Mali, Africa. As the guide for Marlise's Stillness tour through the Dogon country, he shared with her many of the challenges the people there are facing. The desertification of the African continent is having grave consequences on the Malian population in terms of poverty and natural resources.
The Trees of Life Program seeks to plant 500 trees in the first year, planting 5 different types of trees that are beneficial to the environment and are a source of food, medicine and shelter for local people
Both of these extraordinary individuals became inspired through their experiences of Stillness as they traveled with Marlise, on her Tour meeting with the elders and their local communities.
Action Jackson and Mikaelu make a difference in the world through who they are and the work they do. Wherever Marlise travels, she looks for ways to support those who are bringing about a shift in the consciousness of their community and ultimately this planet.
